We are going to start tearing up our dense jungle of a backyard this week and I feel excited but nervous. Excited that the long local nightmare (our yard) is over and nervous because maybe I am just a terrible gardener and once we get things looking nice, it will revert back to a jungle within a year. It’s a yard that was put together a long time ago by an extreme hobbyist whom I define as someone who just wants to work in their garden in their free time. Throw in a few owners that didn’t have that lust for work and then us and you have a giant mess. We could potentially find the Ark of the Covenant in our backyard or a shortcut to Vail. I’ll let you know.
I love art and I thought it would be fun to highlight a few local painters on the blog this week! One easy way to elevate your interior is to decorate it with great art. There are many talented artists out here in Colorado and here are a few that caught my eye.
Entitled “Morning Cuppa” this is a scene from Denver’s Central Market from the talented Colorado artist Cathleen Windham. Head over to her website for interesting paintings – I like what catches her eye. (Source)I love paintings of the sky and this fine artist has a special knack for skies. This is by Jane Hunt an English artist who lives in Colorado. (Source)This is called “Silence” by Colorado native Jon Francis. Check out his Instagram – he’s a diverse artist and I like the vintage vibe of some of his pieces. (Source)Want or need more color? This is for you! Abstracted landscapes with interesting color combinations for days by Colorado artist Cheri Vilona – she has beautiful work up on her website! (Source)More into streetscapes? Check out the work of this Colorado artist Patrick Love. (Source)I like the illustrative style of this Denver artist, Sophie Halma, a lot. The colors and energy of this painting are really appealing – check out her website for more! (Source)I’m a sucker for a landscape painting and this Northern Colorado artist, Tyler Wilkes, has some serious chops. Atmospheric and a little haunting. (Source)
